In 2020, Sara founded Wild Forces to provide accessible outdoor education and leadership support for women in the Carolinas. What started as a spark turned into an entire career shift from graphic design into emergency management and education. Sara is now a volunteer member and outreach coordinator of Henderson County Rescue Squad carrying numerous technical rescue certifications in disciplines like wilderness, swift water, ropes, and vehicle extrication rescue. She is also a certified instructor for various wilderness medicine, first aid, survival, and FEMA subjects. Sara believes knowledge is power in the wilderness and sees education as a way to spark new passions and feel more confident in the outdoors.
