Webinar: The Art of Getting Lost
Getting lost in the wilderness is an art form. We don’t mean getting whimsically lost in your mind. We mean physically, “uh oh, I don’t recognize where I am” kind of lost. It’s accidental, emotional, and sometimes it happens because we got a little too creative in our exploration. It can happen fast and the decisions we make after realizing we’re not where we want to be can get us even more lost. In this webinar, we will discuss how we get lost, lost person behavior based on specific demographics, and what to do when you find yourself off-track.
This will be a one hour presentation held on Zoom so pease be sure to download or update the Zoom app prior to the class. You will be sent an email with a link and call-in number to join. Please be sure to mute your mic when you enter the chat. If you have any questions or situations you’d like us to discuss, feel free to email us before the class!

After Sara attended her first Wilderness First Aid Class, she fell in love with wilderness medicine and immediately saw the value in teaching those skills to outdoor enthusiasts. She organized outdoor events for women for 3 years but it was very early on that she realized how eager women were to learn the skills they needed to feel safe and confident on the trail. Sara is now a Wilderness EMT, survival & wilderness medicine instructor, and volunteer technical rescue team member of Henderson County Rescue Squad. In 2020, Sara founded Wild Forces, a non-profit dedicated to creating more opportunities for outdoor education and leadership roles for women. She believes knowledge is power in the wilderness and sees education as a way to spark new passions and feel more confident in the outdoors.
